The Erect Clematis (Clematis recta) is a perennial flowering shrub, unlike other Clematis plants in the Ranunculoideae family of buttercups.
It is mainly found in the Northern Hemisphere, native eastern, southern, and central Europe and the Caucases.
Some Clematis flower in spring, while others flower in summer or autumn.
Photographed in the Botanical Garden, Paris, June 2019.
