The Hollyhock (Alcea rosea) is a flowering plant in the Malvaceae family. It is native to China.

The Hollyhock grows to 240 centimetres (8 feet) tall. The large flowers, from 7-15 centimetres (3-6 inches) wide, range from white to dark red.
It flowers from May to September in the Northern Hemisphere.
