The Judas Tree (Cercis siliquatrum) is a small deciduous tree in the Fabaceae family from southern Europe and western Asia.

It grows to 12 metres (39 feet) tall and about 10 metres (32 feet) wide.

The flowers have five free petals and fused sepals. Leaves appear soon after the first flowers emerge. The Judas Tree also produces long, flat seed pods that hang vertically.

Its deep pink flowers bloom in spring.

Photographed in the Botanical Garden, Paris, April 2021.
