The zucchini or courgette (Cucurbita sp) is an annual vine vegetable in the Cucurbitaceae family of gourds.
It has edible green fruit called marrows, as well as edible large, deep-yellow flowers that can be eaten raw.
The flowers are uni-sexual with male and female flowers on different plants or on the same plant.
