The Large-Leaved Kowhai (Sophora tetraptera) is a small tree in the Fabaceae family of pea plants.

It is native to New Zealand.
The Large-Leaved Kowhai grows to 15 metres (49 feet) tall with spreading branches.
It has grey-green leaves with bunches of up to 10 drooping yellow flowers and dry, ridged seed pods. The pods are 10-28 centimetres (4-11 inches) long with yellow seeds.
It blooms from September to December in the Southern Hemisphere.
