The Japanese Wisteria (Wisteria floribunda) is a flowering climbing plant in the Fabaceae family of pea plants.

It is a clockwise twining vine native to Asia.
It grows to about 20 metres (66 feet) tall. It can spread to 10 metres (33 feet).
It produces seeds in pods. The purple flowers are pendulous racemes growing to 10-80 centimetres (4-31 inches) long.
The Japanse Wisteria blooms in spring.
