The Pistachio Tree (Pistacia vera) is a deciduous, desert flowering tree in the Anacardiaceae family of cashew nuts. It is dioecious, with separate male and female trees.

It originated from Central Asia and the Middle East.

The Pistachio Tree grows to 10 metres (33 feet) tall.

The fruit is a drupe containing an elongated seed. Its seeds are edible pistachio nuts. It has leaves that measure 10-20 centimetres (4-8 inches) long.

It blooms in April, in spring.

Photographed in the Botanical Garden, Paris, May 2021.
