The Elderberry (Sambucus nigra) is a flowering plant in the Adoxaceae family of elderberries. 

Its leaves are 5-30 (2-12 inches) long. The flowers are clusters of small white or cream-coloured flowers. The fruit is a small black or blue-black berry. 

The Elderberry blooms in late spring.
