The Love-in-a-Mist (Nigella damascena) is an annual flowering plant in the Ranunculaceae family of buttercups. It is also known as the Ragged Lady or the Devil in the Bush.

It is native to southern Europe, north Africa, and southwest Asia.

Love-in-a-Mist grows to 20-50 centimetres (8-20 inches) tall. 

The fruit is a large capsule that contains numerous seeds.

The flower is nested in a ring of multifid lacy bracts. The flower can be white, pink, or pale-purple. The flowers bloom in early summer.
