The Paw Paw Tree (Asimina triloba) is a small deciduous tree in the Annonaceae family. It is also known as the Papaya Tree.
It is native to North America and Canada.
The fruit is large and yellowish-green. It is related to the custard-apple and the soursop.
The Paw Paw Tree is an understory tree with large, simple leaves. It grows to 11 metres (34 feet) tall with a 20-30 centimetre (8-12 inch) trunk.
Paw Paw flowers are red-purple with three sepals and six petals, growing to 3-5 centimetres (1-2 inches) across.
It blooms in early spring.
