The Black-Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta) is an annual flowering plant in the Asteraceae family.

It grows to 30-100 centimetres (12-39 inches) tall.

Its leaves are 10-18 centimetres (4-7inches) long, covered with coarse hair.

The Black-Eyed Susan has daisy-like flowers up to 10 centimetres (4 inches) in diameter with bright-yellow ray florets circling around a dark-brown dome-shaped cone.

It blooms in summer and early autumn.

Photographed in Claude Monet’s Garden, Giverny, France, September 2021.
