The Common Peony (Paeonia officinalis officinalis) is a herbaceous perennial plant in the Paeoniaceae family. It is also known as the Garden Peony.

It is native to the mountainous areas of southern Europe, in countries such as Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Romania.
It grows to 60-70 centimetres (24-28 inches) tall.
It has bowl-shaped pink or red flowers 10-13 centimetres (4-5 inches) in diameter.
The Common Peony blooms in late spring.
