The Purple Heart Plant (Tradescantia pallida) is a flowering evergreen perennial plant in the Commelinaceae family of spiderworts. It is also known as the Purple Queen.

It is native to eastern Mexico.
It is a sprawling ground cover, growing to about 20-36 centimetres (8-14 inches) tall. It is also used in hanging pots.
The Purple Heart has pointed red or purple leaves. The flower has three petals and is white, pink, or purple.
It blooms in spring.
