The Monolena primuliflora (Monolena primuliflora) is a tropical perennial flowering plant in the Melastomataceae family.

It is native to South America, mostly in countries from Costa Rica to Ecuador and in parts of Brazil.

It is epiphytic because it can grow without soil by attaching itself to the branch of a host plant.

The Monolena primulifora grows to about 50 centimetres (20 inches) tall.

It has veined, shiny leaves which begin red and turn dark green with age. The stems are red, marked with green.

Its flowers are small and pink. They are on long spikes.

Photographed in the Botanical Garden Hothouse, Paris, November 2021.
