The Scarlet Sage (Salvia splendens) is a flowering, perennial, herbaceous plant in the Lamiaceae family.

It is native to Brazil in South America.
It grows to 130 centimetres (51 inches) tall.
It has ovate leaves of varying sizes with a light covering of hair.
They occur in spikes that sprout from the centre of the plant in groups of 2-6 together. The flowers are red and tubular or bell-shaped. They are about 3-4 centimetres (an inch) long.
It blooms in summer and autumn.
