The Rabbit-Ear Iris (Iris laevigata) is a flowering rhizomatous perennial plant in the Iridaceae family. It is also known as Japanese Iris, Water Iris, Smooth Iris, and Shallow-Flowered Iris.

It is native to Japan. It grows in shallow waters and still ponds.
It has straight, sword-shaped, lime-green leaves.
The flower is blue, purple, or violet. It has three petals about 8-10 centimetres (3-4 inches) wide. It has broad, pendant falls with a white or creamy-yellow ridge and slightly narrower, upright standards.
The Rabbit-Ear Iris blooms from late spring to early summer.
