The Bird of Paradise Shrub (Caesalpinia gilliesii or Erythrostemon gilliesii) is a flowering plant in the Fabaceae family of legumes. It is not related to the genus Strelitzia Bird of Paradise.

It is native to South American countries, such as Argentina and Uruguay.

It grows to 1-4 metres (3-13 feet) tall. 

Its leaves are 10-15 centimetres (4-6 inches) long.

The yellow flowers are in racemes up to 20 centimetres (8 inches) long, each with five petals. Its 10 stamens are bright red.
