The Roof Iris (Iris tectorum) is a flowering, rhizomatous, perennial plant in the Iridaceae family. It is also known as the Wall Iris.
It is native to Asia, in countries such as China, Korea, and Myanmar. It grows in shallow waters and still ponds.
It grows to 20-45 centimetres (8-18 inches) tall.
It has floppy, sword-shaped, lime-green leaves.
The flower is lavender-blue, purple-blue, violet, or sky-blue. It has three petals about 8-10 centimetres (3-4 inches) wide. It has broad, pendant falls with a dark, speckled ridge and slightly narrower, upright standards.
The Roof Iris blooms from late spring to early summer.
