The Common Agapanthus (Agapanthus praecox) is a flowering perennial plant in the Amaryllidaceae family. It is also known as Blue Lily, African Lily and Lily of the Nile.

It is native to South Africa.
Its stems reach 100 centimetres (39 inches) tall.
It has evergreen leaves about 2 centimetres (less than an inch) wide and 50 centimetres (20 inches) long.
The open-faced flowers are blue, purple, or white. The inflorescence is in umbrel – a canopy-shape.
It has capsules wih black seeds.
It blooms in late spring to summer.
