The Dahlia – ‘Bright and Black’ (Dahlia sp.) is a flowering, perennial, herbaceous, tuberous plant in the Asteraceae family. 

It is native to Mexico and Central America.

It grows to 70 centimetres (27 inches) tall in a bushy shape with several stems.

The small, ‘simple’ flower is orange-yellow with dark foliage that is almost black. It has wide, flat petals surrounding the centre. The flower is up to 10 centimetres (4 inches) across. 

The Dahlia – ‘Bright and Black’ blooms from July to October in the Northern Hemisphere – from mid summer to autumn.
