The Cowtongue Prickly Pear (Opuntia lindheimeri) is a perennial flowering plant in the Cactaceae family of cactus plants. It is also known as the Texas Prickly Pear.

It is native to North America, mainly in Texas in the United States and in Mexico.
It grows up to 5 metres (16 feet) tall.
It has large green pads, called cladodes or platyclades, with long, thin spines and hair-like prickles called glochids.
The fruit is a berry that ranges from green to deep red.
The flowers of the Cowtongue Prickly Pear are bright yellow, spiral-shaped, and solitary.
It blooms from May to August in the Northern Hemisphere.
