The Purple Tansy (Phacelia tanacetifolia) is an annual flowering plant in the Boraginaceae family of borage plants. It is also known as Blue Tansy and Lacy Phacelia.

It is found in North America and Mexico, mainly in arid locations.

It grows to about 100 centimetres (39 inches) tall. It is coated in short, stiff hairs.

The leaves are 2-20 centimetres (1-8 inches) long with toothed, lacy lobes.

It has a hairy inforescence with curving or coiling bell-shaped flowers in shades of purple, lavender, and blue. Each flower is about a centimetre (half an inch) long with whiskery stamens.

The Purple Tansy blooms in late spring and into summer.
