The Merck’s Dahlia (Dahlia merckii) is a flowering tuberous, herbaceous perennial plant in the Asteraceae family.

It is native to Mexico.

It is taller than the dwarf species, and grows to about 250 centimetres (8 feet) tall.

The flowers have multiple slightly cupped lilac, white, and pink petals 10 centimetres (4 inches) wide, with yellow centres.

The Merck’s Dahlia blooms in late summer and autumn.

Photographed in the Paris Botanical Garden, France, September 2022.
