It is native to North America, particularly Texas, and also Mexico.
The Beaked Yucca grows to about 4.5 metres (14.5 feet) tall.
Its leaves grow outwards from the top of a single stem, forming a crown. The thin, rigid, and pointy leaves grow to 60 centimetres (23.5 inches) long and 1.5 centimetres (half-an-inch) wide.
The white flowers are on a large panicle 100 centimetres (39 inches) tall.
