Mimosa – ‘Le Gaulois’
The Mimosa (Acacia dealbata – ‘Le Gaulois‘) is an evergreen, flowering tree in the Fabaceae family of legumes. It is also known as the Acacia, Blue Wattle, or Silver Wattle. The Le Gaulois (The Gaul) is a French cultivar.

It is native to southern Australia.
It grows to 5-20 metres (16-65 feet) tall.
The leaves are bue-green to silvery-grey, about 1-12 centimetres (up to 5 inches) long and 1-11 centimetres (up to 4 inches) wide, with 6-30 pairs of pinnae.
The flowers form large racemose inflorescences of 13-42 bright yellow globules (small balls).
The fruit is a flattened, thin pod about 2-12 centimetres (1-5 inches) long, containing several seeds.
The Mimosa blooms from January to March.
