Chives
Chives (Allium schoenoprasum) is a species of bulb-forming, flowering, herbaceous, perennial herb in the Amaryllidaceae family. It is closely related to onions, garlic, shallots, and leeks.

It is widespread across Asia, Europe, and North America.
It grows in dense clusters from the roots. It grows to 30-50 centimetres (12-20 inches) tall. The bulbs are thin and conical, about 3 centimetres (one inch) long and one centimetre (half an inch) wide.
Its stems are hollow and tubular, up to 50 centimetres (20 inches) long. The leaves are like grass.
The flowers are pale purple and star-shaped with six petals 1-2 centimetres (half an inch) wide. There are about 10-30 clustered together. The seeds are found in small capsules.
Chives bloom from April to May in the Northern Hemisphere, and sometimes into June.
