Asparagus

Asparagus (Asparagus officinalis) is a herbaceous, perennial flowering plant in the Asparagaceae family.

It is common to Europe.

It grows to 100-150 centimetres (40-60 inches) tall.

It has thick stems with feathery foliage. The leaves are clustered together in a rose-like shape.

The small greenish to whitish flower is bell-shaped, less than a centimetre (quarter of an inch) long with 6 tepals partially fused together.

The fruit is a small red berry.

Photographed in Paris, France, April 2023.
