European Ash
The European Ash Tree (Fraxinus excelsior) is a medium-sized to large, deciduous, flowering tree in the Oleaceae family.

It is native to Europe.
It grows to 12-18 metres (39-59 feet) tall. Its smooth, pale-grey trunk is about 2 metres (6.6 feet) in diameter.
The leaves are 20-35 centimetres (8-14 inches) long with serrated margins.
Its flowers are short panicles. The dark-purple female flowers are longer than the male flowers and don’t have petals. Both male and female flowers can be found on the same tree, but are usually on different trees.
The fruit is a samara that hangs in bunches, 2.5-4.5 centimetres (1-2 inches) long.
The European Ash blooms in spring.
