Jivko – plant sculptures in bronze

The Town Hall of the 6th arrondissement in Paris is holding an exhibition of Jivko Stantchev’s plant sculptures in bronze, called JIVKO, from 24 October to 20 November 2023.

Jivko Stantchev (1963-) is a Bulgarian-born French sculptor. His uncle, the painter M. Manev, introduced Jivko to visual arts. In 1982, he graduated in Fine Arts and Art History before studying at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. In 1990, the School of Fine Arts in Paris awarded him a scholarship, so he moved to France.

With a grant in 1992, he was invited to work for six months in the studio of the painter Auguste Renoir. Jivko Stantchev became a French citizen in 1996.

In the early 2020s, he established a bronze plant and animal artwork collection.

Photographed in Paris, France, November 2023.
