Lisianthus

The Lisianthus (Eustoma sp.) is a flowering, herbaceous, annual plant in the Gentianaceae family. It is also known as Prairie Gentian.

It is native to southern United States, Mexico, Caribbean, and the top of South America.

It grows to 15-60 centimetres (6-24 inches) tall with blue-green, slightly succulent leaves.

The funnel-shaped flowers grow on long, straight stems and can be found in a variety of colours, such as pink, purple, white, and blue. The flowers are about 5 centimetres (2 inches) in diameter.

The Lisianthus blooms in early summer.

Photographed in Paris, France, June 2023.
