The Red Bottlebrush (Melaleuca citrina) is a flowering shrub in the Myrtaceae family of myrtle trees. It is also known as the Crimson Bottlebrush or the Lemon Bottlebrush. It was previously classified as a Callistemon.
It is native to eastern Australia.
It is a shrub growing to 5 metres (20 feet) tall. It has a papery bark. Its leaves are flat and narrow, measuring 2-9 centimetres (1-4 inches) long.
The flowers are red and spiked, measuring 4-7 centimetres (2-3 inches) long. The spikes have up to 80 individual flowers.
It flowers in the Southern Hemisphere in November and December.
