The Pansy (Viola x wittrockiana) is a flowering hybrid plant in the Violaceae family.

It is a native wildflower of Europe and western Asia.

The flower is 5-8 centimetres (2-3 inches) in length. 

It has two overlapping upper petals, two side petals, and a single lower petal with a slight beard coming from the flower’s centre. 

The flower comes in a variety of colours, from white to yellow, purplish, and blue. 

The Pansy blooms in spring.
